Assembling Alex Pettit’s Hydrogen Line Yagi antenna

Loosely assembled – I’ve asked Alex some questions before I complete assembly.

Hi Alex

Before I get the old soldering iron out can I check couple things with you:

Attached photos show my loosely assembled Yagi so far….

1. Once nuts are tightened, there is some spare threaded rod – is this better at the SMA connector end or the other end?

2. Am I right in thinking the stand-offs go in direction from disc shown in my photo? Not clear from instructions whether this direction or other away from director rods. I assume that the little black screws thst fit into end of stand offs are loosened or tightened to increase or decrease gap between this large disc and adjacent disc in order to tune aerial. Is that correct?

3. On instructions, it says to tune final director too – how is this tuned as no tuning screw there?

4. Am I right in thinking the tiny curved feed wire should be soldered onto inside SMA as in photo, so points towards adjacent disc and that screw with nut on end of it is again for tuning purposes?

Thanks in advance.

Andy
