Comparing Ptarmigan and 21cm Plate Yagi data at LRO, collected over few days 26-31/8/2024 – the data set

Dear Ted,

I have been collecting Ptarmigan Array and Alex Pettit 21cm Plate Yagi data at similar elevation and same azimuth over last few days whilst we have been away. You can download the ezCol data sets from both aerials on link below – would you mind if I asked for your thoughts on performance of the two aerials? It seems to me that that Yagi has bought out a LOT more detail of the main radio sources as well as galaxy spiral structure than the Ptarmigan, suggesting that Alex Pettit’s claim that his Yagi would out-perform the Ptarmigan is actually correct! However, what do you think? You’re a lot more experienced and knowledgeable than me and I often misinterpret these things.

NB In the data set, the Yagi data has Yagi in the title (obvious!) but the Ptarmigan data has no aerial in the title (a bit like .com and .net referring to USA without needing to say .usa.com or .usa.net, my labelling system implies Ptarmigan Array, unless stated otherwise, as it was the first aerial I seriously used for this exercise.
